Release notes

What changed in vambel, release by release.

Openings and team roles

Every video style now opens a film its own way, four openings are drawn in 3D, and teams manage their own roles.

New

  • Films in a video style open their own way: kinetic typography lands the title on the beat, the explaining style counts up the episode number, hand-drawn writes it out, and product demo, cartoon, cinematic, isometric, collage and documentary each have an opening of their own.
  • Four openings drawn in 3D: a flowing field in the brand's colour, particles that gather into the title, the logo in 3D, or the title as liquid chrome (chrome needs GPU rendering; otherwise the style's own opening plays).
  • Title on or off: a project or your own style can leave the title out of the film entirely.
  • Owners and admins change a team member's role in the team list.
  • Members can leave a workspace themselves.

Improved

  • Styles that fill the frame (typography, cinematic, documentary) no longer carry the small heading in the corner.
  • Inviting someone who is already in the team is caught with a clear message instead of sending a second invitation.

vambel opens to everyone

The public launch: sign up yourself, try it free for 14 days, and make films in nine video styles with your own team.

New

  • A public site in English and Dutch. Sign up with a confirmed e-mail address and try everything free for 14 days, no card needed.
  • Three plans by minutes of finished film (Maker, Pro and Studio), Enterprise on request, and packs of extra minutes that never expire. Previews never count.
  • Workspaces: one plan covers every workspace you own. Invite colleagues by e-mail as admin, editor or viewer.
  • Bring your own keys for every provider, Anthropic included. Copy a key to another workspace you manage without ever seeing it.
  • Nine video styles for a series, a film or a single sentence: explaining with data, kinetic typography, product demo, hand-drawn, flat cartoon, cinematic, isometric, collage and documentary. Each moves its own way on the voice: numbers count up, words land on the beat, a cursor clicks, a pencil draws. Make, import and export your own styles too.
  • Own voices: record your voice with spoken consent and have it made in your own ElevenLabs account. Withdraw it at any time and it is deleted there and here.
  • Raw preview: watch the film in the browser straight away, before or instead of a render.
  • Film the picture for each sentence on a phone through a link, with the back camera. Keep your own sound or let the AI voice read the sentence.
  • A series from a brochure (PDF) as well as from a website, as the right kind of film: public information, educational or sales. A series from a website brings the site's own photos along.
  • Make a brand kit yourself: name, colours, fonts and end card.
  • A new workspace opens on a getting-started list: keys, first project, brand and first film, each with its status.
  • Your account: download all your data or delete the account, and the legal pages (terms, privacy, data processing addendum, AI transparency).

Improved

  • People are framed: pictures and clips are placed so faces sit inside the brand's form, and with several people the frame moves calmly from face to face.
  • Cleaner sound: recordings are trimmed to the speech and cleaned of rumble and noise, films are levelled to the loudness platforms play at, and music ducks under spoken words.
  • Recordings are checked against the script for missed words, and the AI voice is listened back for words that may not sound as written.
  • Suggestions from your own pictures for each sentence, warnings for dark, blurry or shaky shots, and long uploads cut into shots.
  • Recordings play inside the studio, and the autocue can be mirrored for a teleprompter mirror.
  • Finished personage clips can be used in the film, and a soft fade is the default transition.

Fixed

  • Renders no longer stay on 'rendering' after the film is in.
  • A logo is no longer used as a picture form.
  • When the GPU is not available, rendering falls back to the CPU instead of waiting in the queue.

The studio

The first version of the studio: from website or brand manual to a branded, voiced film.

New

  • The editor: a production board with one next step per episode, the steps Script, Voice, Presenter and Film, a command palette (⌘K), activity and notifications.
  • Projects, episodes and scripts with approval, rendered as films in your brand, also in 9:16 for social.
  • Brand kits drafted from a brand manual (PDF) or from your website, approved by a person.
  • A new project from your website: every sentence tied to the page it rests on.
  • Voices by ElevenLabs with word timing, so pictures and words follow the voice.
  • Recording studio: presenters record their on-camera parts through a link, with a karaoke autocue that follows their pace.
  • Personages: character sheets and animated clips, and lip-synced presenter shots. Real people only with their recorded consent.
  • An image for each sentence in the brand's style.
  • Music with a beat grid: cuts and motion land on the beat. GPU rendering with smoother transitions and motion blur.
  • Direction per series: the look of the pictures, voice speed and delivery, and how names are pronounced.
  • Client review: a share link where clients watch, approve and comment at a moment in the film.
  • The assistant: a conversation that sees your production and proposes changes you apply with one click.
  • Costs: every provider call is recorded and shown per episode and per month.

Fixed

  • Pictures no longer shake on the beat.
  • Renders with motion blur have sound again.
  • Saving motion or direction settings no longer takes the project's music off.
