Cookies
In short
vambel uses one cookie, and only after you sign in. It is strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We use no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party cookies. That is why you do not see a cookie banner: the law (ePrivacy Directive, Article 5(3), and the Dutch Telecommunications Act, Article 11.7a) does not require consent for storage that is strictly necessary for a service you ask for.
The cookie we use
| Name | Purpose | Set by | Duration | Properties |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| studio_session | Keeps you signed in and protects your session | vambel (first party) | 14 days, renewed while you use vambel | HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax |
HttpOnly means scripts on the page cannot read the cookie. Secure means it is only sent over encrypted connections. SameSite=Lax means other websites cannot use it to send requests in your name.
Local storage
Besides the cookie, vambel keeps two small items in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to us or anyone else. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| vambel.invite | Remembers an invitation to a workspace that you opened while signed out, so you can still accept it after signing up and confirming your e-mail address | Until you accept the invitation or clear it |
| remotion.volumePreference | Remembers the volume you set in the film preview in the studio | Until you clear it |
Both are strictly necessary for something you ask for, so they need no consent.
